[플레이뉴스 문성식기자] 노블레스 컬렉션에서 5월 31일부터 6월 28일까지 정해윤 작가의 개인전 '본성의 여정: 惡을 설득할 수 있는 善'을 개최한다.동양화를 전공한 작가는 두꺼운 한지인 장지에 아크릴물감과 분채를 섞어 얇은 선으로 세밀하게 그리는 독창적 화풍을 개척해왔다.
정해윤은 이번 전시에서 사실적 묘사로 밀도 있게 그려낸 작가의 대표 시리즈 ‘Plan B’, ’Relation’의 신작과 함께 벽화, 설치 작업을 통해 인간이 지닌 본성과 그 여정을 탐구한다.Plan B 130x162cm Acrylic on Thick Mulberry Paper2024
얇은 선 위에 홀로 앉아 있거나 서로를 살피며 대화하는 박새들은 얽히고설키며 살아가는 우리의 모습과 닮았다. 정해윤의 작품에서 인류를 상징하는 새는 실로 표현된 다양한 관계망을 통해 교류하며 생태계를 이뤄나간다.
작가를 대표하는 시리즈 중 하나인 ‘Plan B’ 시리즈는 인생에 많은 선택지가 있음을 드러낸다.
‘Relation’ 시리즈에서는 서랍이 등장하는데 한 개의 서랍은 개인의 생로병사가 닮긴 삶의 터전이며, 서랍 여러 개가 모인 전체 화면은 하나의 사회를 지칭한다.

이번 전시 '본성의 여정: 惡을 설득할 수 있는 善'을 통해 사회에서 관계를 형성하기 이전인 인간 본성을 출발점 삼아 이야기를 풀어낸다. 새가 탄생하기 전인 ‘알’ 형태를 빌려 그 안에서 꿈틀거리는 듯한 움직임을 착시 효과를 의도하여 표현했다.
그리고 전시장 입구에는 커다란 빈 서랍을 그린 벽화가 등장하는데, 태어나 자라는 동안 쌓이는 후천적 영향과 사람의 의지가 담기는 공간을 상징한다.
작가는 악한 본성도 환경에 의해 선한 인간으로 성숙될 수 있음을 믿고 선한 마음이 악의 본성을 누를 수 있게 만드는 후천적인 환경은 현시대를 사는 우리에게 계속 진행되고 있다고 말한다.

Noblesse Collection presents Jung Haiyun’s solo exhibition 'Journey of Human Nature: Good Capable of Convincing Evil' from May 31st to June 28th. With her roots in traditional Korean arts, Jung has pioneered a unique painting methodology by intricately applying thin lines of acrylic paint and pigment onto thick sheets ofJangji, a form ofHanji(Korean mulberry paper). In this body of work, the artist explores human nature through murals and installations alongside the dense, realistic representations of her previous series ‘Plan B’ and ‘Relation.’
Chickadees perching on a thin line, either conversing with each other or sitting alone, remind us of our own daily lives. In Jung’s paintings, birds serve as symbols of building and maintaining various social networks, which are represented by strings or lines. Among the artist’s most well-known works, ‘Plan B’ conveys a message that life offers us many choices. In her ‘Relation’ series, each drawer signifies a single human life comprising numerous different stages, while the collection of drawers depicted on canvas evokes a society capable of sustaining those lives.
In , Jung returns to the essence of human nature, a state free from any influence of social standards. Using the shape of an egg as a signifier of the time before birth, she creates optical illusions that give the appearance of movement taking place inside the egg. A large mural of an empty drawer is positioned at the gallery entrance to suggest a space in which external factors and the individual’s free will converge, reinforcing the artist’s conviction that evil nature can be tamed through positive influence—a role fulfilled by modern society.
