[플레이뉴스 문성식기자] 두산아트센터 두산갤러리는 제14회 두산연강예술상 미술부문 수상자 유신애의 개인전 《파생적 메시아》를 2024년 9월 4일(수)부터 10월 12일(토)까지 개최한다.
다학제적 예술을 바탕으로 자본주의가 인간의 인식과 삶의 양식에 끼치는 영향에 대해 비판적 접근을 이어가는 유신애는 이번 전시에서 동명의 영상 작품 〈파생적 메시아〉를 중심으로 개인과 사회 간의 역학 관계가 빚어낸 새로운 메시아주의를탐구한다.
전시는 영상, 조각, 회화 등 다양한 매체를 아우르며 상품화된 믿음의 구조와 구원이 갖는 자기애적 욕망을 노골적으로 파헤친다.
DOOSAN Art Center DOOSAN Gallery is pleased to present Sinae Yoo's solo exhibition,Derivative Messiah, from September 4th (Wed.) to October 12th (Sat.).
Yoo, the recipient of the 14th DOOSAN Yonkang Arts Awards in Visual Arts critically examines the impact of capitalism on human perceptions and lives through interdisciplinary art. The exhibition, centered on the eponymous video work, explores today’s new messianism as a product of the dynamics between society and the individual. Through various mediums such as video, sculpture, and painting, Yoo delves into the structures of commodified faith and the narcissistic desires inherent in salvation.
*9월 2일(월) 오후 6시부터 9시까지 프리즈 을지로 나이트의 일환으로 전시 프리뷰가 진행되며, 9월 7일(토) 오후 5시부터 7시까지 오프닝 리셉션을 진행합니다.
